New York Game Awards 2026: annunciati i candidati

Il New York Videogame Critics Circle (NYVGCC) ha presentato le nomination per i New York Game Awards 2026, evento giunto alla sua 15a edizione. I candidati sono stati annunciati durante una diretta streaming sul canale YouTube ufficiale della NYVGCC, presentata dall’attore e doppiatore di Star Wars Ahmed Best e dall’ex stagista della NYVGCC e assistente di produzione della Lucasfilm Kimari Rennis. L’evento renderà omaggio alla Pokémon Company come vincitrice dell’Andrew Yoon Legend Award 2026.

Per questa edizione è stata introdotta una nuova categoria: si tratta dell’Excelsior Award for Best New York Game, che premia i videogiochi sviluppati da studi con sede a New York.

Ha dichiarato Harold Goldberg, presidente e fondatore della NYVGCC:

“Quest’anno ci sono stati così tanti giochi straordinari che abbiamo ritenuto necessario introdurre il nuovo Excelsior Award per puntare i riflettori sui giochi provenienti da New York. I premi di quest’anno mettono in luce 66 dei migliori giochi realizzati da studi di sviluppo e singoli individui in tutto il mondo. Il nostro team dedicato di giornalisti, stagisti e volontari sta contando i giorni che mancano alla celebrazione dei loro successi in occasione della 15a edizione dei New York Game Awards, che si terrà domenica 18 gennaio. I biglietti per lo spettacolo e il GG Fest del 17 gennaio stanno andando a ruba, quindi non perdete l’occasione di partecipare a un evento speciale nel 2026!” 

I New York Game Awards 2026 si terranno domenica 18 gennaio presso l’SVA Theatre di Manhattan. I festeggiamenti inizieranno ufficialmente sabato 17 gennaio con il GG Fest, una novità che prevede tavole rotonde con i creatori di di videogiochi e un concerto esclusivo di Supergiant Games: Unplugged con Darren Korb e Ashley Barrett. I biglietti per il GG Fest e i NY Game Awards sono disponibili su Eventbrite al prezzo di 80 dollari ciascuno o in un pacchetto combinato a 140 dollari, che include posti riservati ai NY Game Awards. Chi non potrà partecipare di persona alla cerimonia potrà seguire la diretta streaming su YouTube e Twitch della NYVGCC, nonché sul canale YouTube di GameSpot.
